Job summary

Charter Impact, a remote-first nonprofit-focused firm, seeks an Accounts Payable Associate to support client vendors with accuracy and professionalism. You will follow established procedures, code invoices, and manage AP aging across multiple entities.

Strong Excel skills and nonprofit accounting knowledge are a plus. This role offers a base hourly rate of $20.00–$23.00 with the potential for an annual discretionary bonus, and a remote-friendly setup with company laptop and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years related experience, or a bachelor’s degree in business/ accounting/ public administration.
• Accounts payable experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with non-profit accounting systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify cash availability and perform payment selections.
• Code invoices to the correct general ledger accounts.
• Generate AP aging reports for clients.
• Notify clients of discrepancies and follow up.
• Handle client inquiries and communications via email and phone.
• Prepare use tax reports and assist in audits.
• Support process improvements for clients with latest technology.
