Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full 401(k) administration process. You will review client documents, assist with year-end reporting, and help with government filings including Form 5500.

This remote role offers accelerated training, daily collaboration with clients, and opportunities to grow into more senior retirement-plan roles as part of our ESOP journey.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily job responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting, is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
• Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply.
• Training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Performs other duties as required.
