Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist for a fully remote role. You will learn the end-to-end process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans, advancing from document review to handling basic plan administration.

You’ll review client documents, keep clients updated, and help with year-end reporting, including IRS Form 5500, while leveraging Excel and specialized software. Growth through training is emphasized.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, IRS/DOL regulations preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Complete 401(k) testing and reporting with administration software.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding 401(k) administration.
