Guidant Financial invites you to join as a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist, a remote role where you’ll learn the full process of administering 401(k) plans from document review through year-end reporting.

You’ll review documents, reconcile plans, run 401(k) testing, prepare IRS Form 5500 filings, and keep clients updated on progress using Excel and our administration software. This position emphasizes attention to detail, clear communication, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back‑office financial operations experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, IRS/DOL regulations preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents
