Job summary

Guidant Financial seeks a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and administer 401(k) plans, with training to handle year-end reporting including IRS Form 5500. You’ll review documents, keep clients updated, and use Excel and our systems to support testing and filings.

This fully remote position emphasizes ownership and ongoing training. You’ll gain experience from document review to active plan administration, with a focus on accuracy, client communication, and progressive

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back‑office financial operations experience in one or more areas such as benefits administration, money movement, tax prep processing, or compliance support.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, 5500 or year‑end reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
