Job summary

Qualus seeks a Relay Settings Engineer to design and coordinate protective relaying and relay control schemes for power systems. You will perform short-circuit studies and provide recommendations for proposed interconnections to clients, while ensuring compliance with company and client standards.

The ideal candidate has ABET-accredited BSEE with a power systems focus and 1–3 years in protection and relay settings, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE with power systems focus required.
• 1–3 years of protection and relay settings experience.
• Ability to identify software needed for design work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Modeling, short-circuit and overstress studies; provide recommendations for interconnections.
• Ensure relay settings activities align with policies, standards, and client requirements.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to real-time inquiries.
• Collaborate with Qualus teams to implement engineering solutions.
