Job summary

Qualus Corporation in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Lead Relay Settings Engineer to design, specify, calculate settings and coordinate protective relays and relay control schemes for major utility substations. You will lead a team and coordinate with clients to ensure reliable protection systems.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years in protection and control engineering, expertise with ASPEN/CAPE, and PE licensing or plan to obtain it. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in protection and control engineering and relay settings.
• Experience with ASPEN and CAPE.
• PE registration or plan to become registered.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate with diverse teams and customers.
• CYME familiarity and reclosers/sectionalizing schemes knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Modeling short circuits and overstress studies and recommendations for generation interconnections.
• Ensure relay settings activities conform to company policies and client design standards.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions in real time.
• Collaborate with Qualus groups to implement technical solutions supporting Engineering Department goals.
