Qualus is seeking a Lead Relay Settings Engineer to perform protective relay design and coordination for major utility substations. The role supports design, setting calculations, and coordination of relay control schemes, with 7+ years of relay settings experience preferred.

The position may be based in Lake Mary, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Boise, ID; Raleigh, NC; or Fort Worth, TX. You will present technical solutions to customers, collaborate with multiple teams, and ensure

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in protection and control engineering and relay settings.
• BSEE with power systems focus; MS may substitute.
• Experience with ASPEN and/or CAPE.
• Professional Engineering registration or plan to become registered.
• Strong analytical and computer skills; ability to identify needed software.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies and recommendations for interconnections.
• Ensure relay settings activities comply with company policies and client design standards.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions in real time.
• Collaborate with Qualus groups to develop and implement technical solutions for Engineering Department objectives.
