Job summary

Qualus Corporation is seeking a Principal Relay Settings Engineer to design, specify, calculate settings, and coordinate protective relays and control schemes. The role requires 12+ years in protection and control at major substations or generation interconnections.

Expectation includes CAPE/ASPEN experience, PE licensure, strong analytical skills, and the ability to present technical solutions to clients. CYME familiarity is a plus, with opportunity to advance across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with power focus.
• 12+ years in protection and control engineering and relay settings.
• Must have experience with CAPE and/or ASPEN.
• PE registration is required; state registration is a plus.
• Strong analytical and computer skills are required.
• Identify software/tools needed for design work.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of personnel.
• Customer service orientation and self-starter mindset.
• Proven multitasking and document management abilities.
• CYME familiarity and fuse coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, set calculations, and coordinate protective relaying schemes.
• Model short-circuit studies and relay recommendations for interconnections.
• Ensure relay settings activities conform to policies and client standards.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions.
• Collaborate with Qualus groups to implement engineering solutions.
• Support multiple projects in parallel.
