Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced RN to join the Inpatient ICU Acuity Adaptable Unit at Ascension St. Vincent Lucas Family Brain and Spine in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time day shift role offers rotating weekends and opportunities to deliver high-acuity neurological and spine patient care.

You will coordinate across disciplines, implement physician and nursing plans, and support patient recovery in a Destination Center of Excellence, with comprehensive benefits and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• ICU experience required.
• Critical Care experience preferred.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality neurological and spine care for complex patients.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of high quality, coordinated neurological and spine care for all complex neurosurgical and spine patients to ensure immediate intervention during critical changes in neurological status.
• Enhance the patient experience by coordinating across all medical disciplines to provide seamless, accessible care that accelerates the recovery journey.
• Execute physician and nursing treatment plans with precision to maintain the clinical excellence and safety standards required for a destination Center of Excellence.
• Communicate real‑time updates on patient progress to the healthcare team and families, fostering a transparent and well‑informed environment for critical decision‑making.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Must have ICU experience.
• Critical Care experience.
