Job summary

Ascension in Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking an OR Circulating RN for the Ortho Neuro service line. The role includes scrub and circulating duties, assisting surgeons, and preparing operating rooms for procedures. This is a full-time, day-shift position on a 3x12 schedule at Lucas Family Brain and Spine.

The ideal candidate holds an Indiana RN license, with ACLS or BLS within required windows and OR circulator experience. A nursing diploma or equivalent licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana.
• ACLS or BLS within required timeframe.
• OR Circulating experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including instrument and supplies management during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring patient condition and nursing care before, during and after procedures.
• Directly assist operating physicians with hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure while positioning patients.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment for use.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physicians with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
