Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Lucas Family Brain and Spine Center in Indianapolis, IN. This PRN, day-shift position requires Indiana RN licensure, ACLS within 12 months, BLS within 30 days, and PALS prior to hire. Prior PACU experience is preferred.

You will work in a Neuro/Spine setting, following sterile technique and providing pain management and responsive patient care. Eligibility includes a nursing diploma, with duties focused on perioperative care and patient monitoring.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Indiana before hire date.
• ALCS within 12 months of hire; BLS within 30 days; PALS prior to hire.

- Schedule: PRN, Day Shift, Minimum 36 hours per six-week schedule

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• - Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• - Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• - Manage patient's pain.
• - Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• - Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• - One or more of the following required: Advanced Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• - Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences:

- Must have prior PACU experience.
