Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neuro Stepdown unit in Indianapolis. The role involves caring for patients from ER or Trauma units, with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and providing clear clinical communication to patients and families.

• Collaborate with rapid response and multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Hospital
Department/Specialty: Neuro Stepdown
Schedule: Full Time, 3x12 hour night shift with rotating weekends

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• You will be working in a high-acuity, 46 bed unit where the patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3-4
• Patients come from the ER or are transferred from the Trauma Neuro ICU and MICU.
• Wide range of diagnoses; Trauma Injuries, Craniotomy, Laminectomy, Discectomy
• Act as the Clinical Liaison by translating complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language
• Engage in effective team collaboration, including rapid response and initiative participation.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
