Job summary

Ascension is seeking a part-time ICU Stepdown nurse in Indianapolis, IN. You will work 7pm–7:30am or 7am–7:30pm with every third weekend and holiday rotations.

You will care for critically ill patients, implement care plans, coordinate care across disciplines, and support discharge planning. Active Indiana RN licensure and BLS are required, with a diploma in nursing at hire.

Qualifications

• RN ICU/Progressive care experience preferred.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill patients requiring longer term hospitalization (respiratory failure/ventilator management, weaning, multisystem complexities).
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor and communicate patient conditions.
• Serve as primary coordinator of disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with healthcare team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
