Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Services ICU.

This is a full-time night shift role requiring Indiana RN licensure and 1–2 years of ICU experience in a high-acuity hospital. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assist with discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients and families.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years ICU nursing in a high-acuity hospital.
• Indiana RN license required before hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Must have at least 1 to 2 years of current ICU nursing experience in a high acuity hospital
• Prefer open heart receiving experience
