Job summary

Ascension offers a structured nurse residency program in Central Indiana designed to develop new graduates into high-functioning professionals. You will collaborate with mentors, complete simulations and skills labs, and participate in residency seminars to enhance clinical decision-making and time management.

Eligible candidates have RN licensure, BLS certification, and the Diploma in Nursing. This on-site program provides comprehensive health benefits, tuition support, and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or active professional licensure.
• RN licensure required prior to hire date.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted).

Responsibilities

• Participates in a year-long residency with mentors to transition from student to professional nurse.
• Completes simulations and skills labs to demonstrate clinical competencies.
• Attends residency seminars to develop professional skills while coordinating scheduling and department tasks.

• Collaborates with mentors and educators during the first year of practice to evolve from a student mindset into a high-functioning professional nurse.
• Completes all structured learning requirementsâincluding simulations and skills labsâto successfully transition into a professional role.
• Participates in residency seminars designed to enhance professional development while effectively managing clinical scheduling and department commitments

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Approved Local Exception. Approved Local Exception for TN to add NRP and STABLE. or For use with unique Union job requirements only. Remove if not for Union.
  • Drivers License.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
