Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center Bastrop in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department. The role delivers direct patient care within standardized protocols and supports patient-centered care delivery.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, coordinate care, and contribute to timely documentation in EHR/EMR while supporting safe discharge planning and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date.
• RN credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as an RN following clinical protocols and patient-centered care standards.
• Implement and monitor individualized care plans and document updates in EHR/EMR.
• Assess patient conditions and communicate changes with the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate discharge planning for safe transitions and continuity of care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse, delivering safe, high-quality nursing care aligned with clinical protocols and patient-centered care standards.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, ensuring accurate clinical documentation and timely updates within Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Assess patient conditions and communicate changes effectively with the interdisciplinary team to support timely interventions and improved patient outcomes.
• Coordinate care and support discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe transitions, effective care coordination, and continuity of patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• 2 year previous emergency department experience preferred.
