Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to coordinate clinical disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across acute and outpatient settings. You''ll work in dynamic environments during disaster response, contributing to planning and execution as needed.

The role requires BLS within 30 days, a Texas RN license, and a nursing Diploma. You may supervise staff and participate in MOA deployments with Emergency Medical Task Force activities.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across settings.
• Prepare for deployable readiness and operate within the Incident Command System.
• Develop and educate on disaster response topics to staff and partners.
• May supervise and direct staff as needed.
• Represent Ascension in MOAs related to EMTF deployments.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Coordinate clinical disaster preparedness, response, and recovery within and outside of acute and outpatient settings. Work within normal physical clinical settings as well as austere and ever changing environments found during disaster response and recovery.

• Prepare for and is in a constant state of readiness to deploy within the ministry or under special circumstances across Ascension nationally with minimal notice. Responsible for working within the National Response Framework and the Incident Command System.
• Develop and educate on disaster related response and recovery subjects to associates and community partners.
• May supervise and direct staff as needed.
• Represent Ascension in appropriate Memorandum of Agreements related to Emergency Medical Task Force and/or other external asset deployments to which Ascension has entered agreements.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
