Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Nursing Shift Coordinator leader for the Emergency Department night shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and attainment of daily clinical and operational goals.

You will coordinate nurse assignments based on patient acuity, staffing needs and physician priorities, monitor staff performance, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to resolve care concerns and optimize resources.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• ACLS/StABLE/Neonatal and pediatric life support credentials may be required.
• Experience leading nursing teams in ED or acute care environments.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Monitor nursing staff performance, provide education, and promote clinical quality, patient safety, compliance, and productivity standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to resolve patient care concerns, coordinate resources, and support effective care delivery.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted. Required if working in adult critical care setting.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Required if working in labor & delivery setting.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Required if working in labor & delivery setting.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted. Required if working in pediatric critical care setting.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
