Job summary

Union Pacific is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to support maintenance and construction of railroad tracks within a designated territory. You will inspect tracks, perform essential repairs and installations, and ensure safe and efficient train movement.

The role requires physical endurance and commitment to safety in a dynamic field environment. You will work with a team to maintain track beds, manage materials, and adhere to FRA rules and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication to relay information to coworkers and supervisors.
• Must be able to read and understand instructions and safety rules.
• Candidates must complete an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railroad tracks, track beds, and right-of-way to identify defects.
• Repair rails, anchors, spikes, ballast, ties and other components as needed.
• Assist with handling, unloading, and movement of track materials and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment as part of track maintenance and installations.
• Maintain track beds by clearing vegetation and debris; sweep and dig as needed.
• Follow safety rules and procedures; maintain positive working relationships with team and customers.
