Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to help maintain and repair railroad tracks across your designated territory. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and installations to keep trains moving safely and efficiently.

Candidates must meet safety and CDL requirements, pass a PAT, and be able to work outdoors in various conditions. The role requires lifting up to 65 lbs, traveling as needed, and a readiness to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Have valid driver's license.
• Have an acceptable driving record per your MVR.
• CDL required upon hire.
• FMCSA medical qualifications apply; final determination by Health and Medical Services at Union Pacific Railroad.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers and effectively handle controversy.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational guidelines, and FRA requirements.
• Handle and transport track materials and equipment using appropriate load/unload devices.
• Perform regular maintenance on tracks, and repair, install, and remove components as needed.
• Maintain trackbed, ballast, tamping, and assist with unloading ballast from ballast cars.
• Operate equipment safely to drive spikes, tighten/loosen track bolts, and use pullers to remove spikes.
• Additional duties as needed.
