Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to maintain and enhance railroad tracks across a designated territory. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and installations ensuring safe train movement and service to North America.

Applicants must be at least 21, hold a valid CDL (Class A or B), and pass an English assessment. The role requires safety-conscious work habits, and travel to various rural/remote locations is possible.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid CDL Class A or B.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow safety rules, bulletins, and federal regulations.
• Must complete an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, rail safety guidelines, and FRA requirements.
• Handle and transport track materials and equipment using appropriate load/unload devices.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installation tasks on tracks as needed.
• Maintain trackbed by removing/replacing ballast and tamping as required.
• Operate equipment safely to drive spikes, tighten/loosen track bolts, and use pullers to remove spikes.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
