Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad in Oakley, KS is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to maintain and repair railroad tracks across your designated territory. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and installations to keep trains moving safely for customers across North America.

This role requires a CDL, valid driving record, and the ability to meet FMCSA medical qualifications. You must be 21+, pass an English assessment, and be willing to work outdoors in varying weather and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to understand and follow instructions and safety rules.
• Must successfully complete an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, guidelines, and FRA requirements.
• Transport and handle track materials and equipment using proper devices.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on tracks as needed.
• Maintain trackbed by removing ballast, tamping, and unloading ballast from cars.
• Operate equipment to drive spikes, tighten/loosen track bolts, and remove spikes.
• Perform additional duties as required.
