Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Controls Team Leader for the Texas and Louisiana region. This hybrid leadership role combines operations, people management, and project delivery to drive financial performance and client success.

You will lead a team of project controls professionals, develop best practices, and collaborate with project managers to optimize schedules, costs, and forecasting while ensuring governance and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Environmental Science or similar with a background in environmental, science, or engineering.
• 7+ years of demonstrated post-education experience in financial controls, finance/accounting, scheduling, forecasting on capital projects.
• 3-5 years of experience leading, mentoring, supervising, and developing multidisciplinary project controls professionals.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, financial analysis).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Project Controls Team across the TX and LA portfolio, overseeing financial performance, scheduling, invoicing, and cash collection.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for the team.
• Establish and promote project controls best practices, processes, and performance standards.
• Partner with project managers and leaders to improve project performance and operational efficiency.
• Monitor financials, schedules, resource utilization, forecasting, and KPIs.
• Prepare and oversee project cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, cash flow analyses, and financial models.
• Develop analytics tools, dashboards, and KPIs for informed decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with WSP policies and contract requirements.
