Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Team Leader to join our Earth & Environment TX & Louisiana Regional Team. This hybrid leadership role combines operational leadership, people management, and project delivery to drive regional performance and growth.

You will lead a team of project controls professionals across the Texas and Louisiana region, overseeing budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and governance while engaging in project execution and client service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Environmental Science or similar.
• 7+ years of demonstrated post‑education experience in financial controls, finance/accounting, scheduling, forecasting on capital projects.
• 3–5 years leading, mentoring, supervising, and developing multidisciplinary project controls professionals.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, and financial analysis), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project; familiarity with Power BI and Oracle-based PM/financial systems.
• Ability to uphold and promote workplace safety policies.
• Willingness to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Project Controls Team, oversight of project financial performance, scheduling, invoicing, and cash collection across the TXLA portfolio.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for the Project Controls Team.
• Establish and promote project controls best practices, processes, and performance standards across the region.
• Partner with project managers, technical leaders, and business leaders to improve project performance and operational efficiency.
• Monitor project financials, schedules, resource utilization, forecasting, and KPIs.
• Develop analytics tools, dashboards, and KPIs to support informed decision‑making.
• Prepare and deliver project performance reports, executive summaries, client presentations, and other communications.
• Provide oversight of procurement and vendor management activities, including contract compliance.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.
