Job summary

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in EHS leadership within mining or heavy equipment sectors, strong MSHA knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS management within mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites or business units.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in the Elko region.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs aligned with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS into planning and decision-making.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to drive improvements.
• Design and deliver role-specific EHS training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and coordinate with HR on wellness and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, and spill prevention.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity planning across sites.
• Coordinate EHS audits, respond to findings, and drive continuous improvement.
