Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or closely related field, or equivalent professional experience in EHS roles.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS management within mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites or business units.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and proven success in implementing mining industry safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in the Elko region to support on-ground leadership and program implementation.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record as required by company policy.

Responsabilités

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs that align with federal, state, and local regulations (MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS in operational planning and decision-making.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections, hazard identification, safety audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to drive continuous improvement.
• Design and deliver training programs for supervisors, technicians, and contractors to boost safety competence.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and foster cooperative relationships at customer sites.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, stormwater, and spill prevention.
• Provide expertise in occupational health matters such as industrial hygiene and ergonomics.
• Lead preparedness for emergencies and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate EHS audits (internal and external, including ISO) and respond to findings.
• Develop, monitor, and report EHS metrics to leadership and drive data-driven decisions.
• Build partnerships with mine site stakeholders to align EHS with operations and customer expectations.
• Take initiative on additional duties supporting Komatsu's safety and environmental goals.
