Job summary

Komatsu seeks an Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV, to lead and enhance Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across mining and service sites. You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on field presence, driving compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires deep MSHA knowledge, strong incident investigation skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations, HR, and site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant safety or environmental field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management experience in mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in Elko region; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs compliant with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT.
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS in planning.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections and audits.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Design and deliver role-specific training.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships at sites.
• Collaborate on wellness, workers' comp, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials and waste.
• Provide expertise on occupational health, ergonomics, and IH.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and respond to findings.
• Develop and report EHS performance metrics.
• Build partnerships with mine site stakeholders.
