Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead the development and execution of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across mining sites near Elko. You will be the primary EHS authority, driving compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong field presence, collaboration with site leadership, and the ability to mentor EHS staff while advancing training, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent EHS experience.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management in mining, heavy equipment, or construction.
• 3+ years leading EHS programs across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Able to travel up to 20% in the Elko region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHS programs aligned with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT.
• Embed EHS into operational planning with regional/site leaders.
• Oversee site inspections, risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Design and deliver role-specific safety trainings.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness, workers' comp, and RTW.
• Oversee environmental compliance: hazardous materials, waste, spill prevention.
• Provide occupational health support: IH, hazard assessments, ergonomics.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity.
• Coordinate EHS audits and respond to findings.
• Report EHS metrics to leadership.
• Engage mine-site stakeholders to align EHS with operations.
• Uphold safety and environmental standards across sites.
