Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead environmental, health and safety programs across multiple mining and service sites. You will drive compliance, manage risk, and foster a culture of safety with operations teams.

The role combines hands-on field presence with strategic leadership, incident investigations, training delivery, contractor oversight, and collaboration with HR on wellness and workers' comp, with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent EHS experience.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management experience in mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining industry safety standards.
• Ability to relocate or travel to Elko, NV (relocation bonus available)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs compliant with MSHA/OSHA/EPA/DOT standards.
• Embed EHS into regional operations planning and decision-making processes.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections, hazard identifications, safety audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses; champion lessons learned.
• Design and deliver safety training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships at customer sites.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, stormwater, and spill prevention.
• Provide occupational health expertise including industrial hygiene, hazard assessments, and ergonomics.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits, including ISO certifications.
• Develop and report EHS metrics to leadership.
• Build partnerships with mine-site stakeholders to align EHS with operations.
• Take on additional duties aligned with Komatsu's safety and environmental goals.
