Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead and expand EHS programs across multiple mining sites. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of safety while partnering with operations and HR on wellness and return-to-work initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in EHS, 3+ years of multi-site leadership, and strong expertise in MSHA standards. A relocation bonus is available for candidates relocating to Elko, NV.

Qualifications

• Relocating to Elko, Nevada is required; relocation bonus is available.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in safety/related field, or equivalent EHS experience.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management experience in mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership across multiple sites or business units.
• Travel up to 20% in the Elko region; valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs meeting MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS in planning and decision-making.
• Oversee risk management via site inspections, hazard identification, safety audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
• Design and deliver role-specific training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and collaborate with HR on wellness and return-to-work.
• Oversee environmental compliance including hazardous materials, waste, stormwater, and spill prevention.
• Provide expertise on occupational health matters such as industrial hygiene and ergonomics.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate EHS audits including customer and ISO certifications.
• Develop and report EHS metrics to regional and corporate leadership.
• Build partnerships with mine site stakeholders to align EHS with operations.
• Take initiative in duties aligning with Komatsu's safety and environmental goals.
