Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead environmental, health, and safety programs for mining and service sites. The role emphasizes field presence, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across operations.

You will mentor EHS staff, drive compliance with MSHA and other regulations, and partner with site leadership to integrate safety into daily operations. A relocation bonus is available for out-of-state candidates.

Qualifications

• Relocation to Elko, NV is available.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in EHS management within mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years leading EHS programs across multiple sites or business units.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Ability to travel up to 20% within the Elko region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Embed EHS considerations into operational planning and decision-making.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections, hazard identification, audits, and follow-ups.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to drive continuous improvement.
• Design role-specific training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships with customer sites.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness, workers' comp, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance related to hazardous materials and waste.
• Provide expertise on occupational health, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and respond to findings.
• Develop and report on regional EHS performance metrics.
• Build partnerships with mine site stakeholders to align EHS with operations.
• Take initiative on additional duties to uphold safety and environmental standards.
