Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. seeks a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across multiple mining sites.

You will be the primary EHS authority, drive compliance, mitigate risks, and integrate safety as a core business value. The role combines field visibility with strategic leadership, mentors EHS staff, delivers training, and partners with operations to embed a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent EHS experience.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management experience in mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Ability to travel up to 20% in the Elko region; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs aligned with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS into operational planning.
• Oversee risk management through site inspections, hazard identifications, audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement preventive measures.
• Design and deliver training programs for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships to maintain high safety standards at customer sites.
• Support employee wellness initiatives, workers' compensation management, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, stormwater, and spill prevention.
• Provide expertise on occupational health, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics.
• Lead preparedness for emergencies and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits; respond to findings and drive improvements.
• Develop and report on EHS performance metrics to regional and corporate leadership.
• Collaborate with mine site stakeholders to align EHS with operational goals.
• Take on additional duties supporting Komatsu’s safety and environmental mission.
