Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is required.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS management experience in mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership across multiple sites or business units.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in Elko region and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs complying with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT requirements.
• Embed EHS in operational planning with regional/site leadership.
• Oversee site inspections, hazard identifications, safety audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
• Design and deliver role‑specific safety training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and return-to-work programs.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness programs and workers’ compensation management.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, and spill response.
• Provide expertise on occupational health, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and drive improvement from findings.
