Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Regional EHS Manager based in Elko, NV to lead and enhance Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across multiple sites. You will drive compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of safety with strong field visibility and leadership.

The role requires guiding incident investigations, audits, and training programs while coordinating with HR on wellness and workers' comp initiatives; relocation bonus available for out-of-state candidates.

Qualifications

• Relocate to Elko, NV with relocation bonus available.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS management within mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, or construction.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing EHS programs across multiple sites or business units.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in the Elko region and to remote mine sites.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs compliant with federal, state, and local regulations (MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Partner with regional and site leadership to embed EHS into planning and decision-making.
• Oversee risk management via site inspections, hazard IDs, safety audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement corrective measures.
• Design and deliver training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors to raise safety competence.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and establish expectations for high safety standards.
• Collaborate with HR on wellness, workers' comp, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, stormwater, spill prevention.
• Provide occupational health expertise on IH, risk assessments, and ergonomics.
• Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity across sites.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits (customer, ISO certifications) and drive improvements.
• Develop and report key EHS metrics to regional and corporate leadership.
• Build partnerships with mine-site stakeholders to align EHS with operations and customer expectations.
