Job summary

Kimmel & Associates Inc. is seeking a Director of Branch Operations to lead a regional network of branches, overseeing financial performance, productivity, and service operations.

The role reports to senior leadership and requires building strong branch leadership and customer relationships while advancing the company’s construction equipment strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive heavy equipment experience, strong P&L management, change leadership, and a proven track record in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.
• 7+ years Caterpillar parts and service experience or 15 years of experience in the heavy equipment industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including demonstrated success leading managers and other leaders.
• Strong working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, machine systems, components, and service requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage regional operations, improve productivity, and achieve financial and operational performance objectives.
• Experience developing and managing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term business plans.
• Strong understanding of parts and service financial performance, including gross profit, expenses, and pretax earnings.
• Ability to evaluate operational metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective business strategies.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, lean principles, and change management practices preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop branch management teams, establish performance standards, and support employee development.
• Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships, resolve service-related issues, and deliver value-driven solutions.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant equipment dealership management, service, diagnostic, and reporting systems.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and maintain productive relationships with equipment manufacturers and other business partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across a regional network of branches.
• Oversee branch managers and supporting teams, establish performance objectives, manage budgets and forecasts, and implement initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen the organization’s construction equipment strategy and customer relationships.
• Develop future leaders throughout the region and ensure safety and continuous improvement in operations.
