Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician to keep our delivery fleet safe and reliable. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel equipment, with an emphasis on reefers, trailers, and lift gates in a maintenance facility.

You will document work in our fleet software, collaborate with partners, and mentor junior staff. Travel for training is required; a high school diploma and certifications are mandatory.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
• Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
• Prior experience administering appropriate PM program.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety rules/regulations.
• Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
• Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certificates.
• Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
