Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and lift gates. You will diagnose issues, document work, and support safety standards in a maintenance facility.

The role requires hands-on experience, DOT-compliant maintenance, and the ability to read manuals. If you bring tools and a willingness to travel for trainings, you’ll fit right in with our team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
• Willing to travel and attend US Foods trainings.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency for reefer equipment repairs.
• Experience administering PM programs.
• Furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills.
• Read and understand technical/service manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, coordinate third party vendors, and plan action with partners.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per safety rules and regulations.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
• Back up to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
• Willingness to increase responsibility and obtain certificates.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
