Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX seeks a part-time laboratory professional to design and conduct experiments, maintain records, and manage equipment. The role emphasizes meticulous documentation, data analysis support, and maintaining a clean, compliant lab environment.

• PhD in BCMB preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs and conducts laboratory experiments.
• Maintains appropriate documentation related to all experiments, including animal records, protocols, equipment, safety requirements, inventory, and orders.
• Summarizes data and assist PI in data analysis.
• Ensures overall cleanliness and organization of laboratory and laboratory equipment.
• Verifies the good working order of all essential laboratory equipment on a daily basis and takes immediate measures when malfunctions are noted.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case‑by‑case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change‑of‑status or change‑of‑employer petitions for qualifying positions. Position Description

Major/Essential Functions

• Maintains appropriate documentation related to all experiments, including animal records (lab notebook), protocols, equipment, safety requirements, inventory, and orders.
• Summarizes data and assist PI in data analysis.
• Ensures overall cleanliness and organization of laboratory and laboratory equipment.
• Verifies the good working order of all essential laboratory equipment on a daily basis and takes immediate measures when malfunctions are noted.

Required Qualifications

PhD or equivalent doctorate (e.g., D.Sc., M.D.) in area of project specialization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology (BCMB).
• Experience in a laboratory setting conducting experiments, maintaining records, and operating laboratory equipment.
