Job summary

Community Health Resources (CHR) operates the REST Center in Willimantic, CT, offering a 24/7 crisis stabilization alternative to hospitalization. The Peer Recovery Specialist will support clients in recovery goals, perform assessments, and work with treatment teams to create person-centered plans.

Part-time role at REST Center, Willimantic, CT; 16 hours/week, Saturday/Sunday 4pm-12am. Requires CPSRP or equivalent certification within 6 months and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use conditions.
• 2+ years working with identified populations, CPSRP preferred.
• Certification or ability to obtain CPSRP/Recovery Coach CCAR within 6 months; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating recovery goals.
• Conduct program-specific assessments and contribute to person-centered treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Deliver recovery coaching and relapse prevention with family involvement where appropriate.
• Maintain compliant documentation and participate in meetings.
