Job summary

Community Health Resources (CHR) seeks a part-time Peer Recovery Specialist for the REST Center in Willimantic, CT. This 16-hour/week role includes weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday 8am-4:30pm) to support clients through crisis stabilization and recovery planning.

Candidates should have lived recovery experience and CPSRP or equivalent certification (or obtain within 6 months). The program emphasizes trauma-informed, recovery-focused care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Lived experience recovering from mental health or substance use condition(s).
• 2+ years working with identified populations; CPSRP preferred.
• Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialist (CPSRP) or Recovery Coach/Counseling certification or equivalent must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and pursuing recovery goals.
• Provide skills teaching and some crisis de-escalation as needed.
• Develop and document individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
• Coordinate with treatment teams and natural supports to implement care plans.
• Conduct program assessments and screenings as required.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Transport clients as required by program.
