Job summary

CHR in Willimantic, CT is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the REST Center. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 4pm–12am, delivering crisis stabilization and recovery support within a 24/7 program.

The role requires lived experience and 2+ years working with target populations; CPSRP or equivalent certification/eligibility within 6 months is preferred, plus a valid driver’s license and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s).
• 2+ years working with identified populations, CPSRP preferred, or in long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in identifying and advocating their own recovery goals.
• Utilizes program models and motivational interventions to support recovery strategies.
• Conducts assessments and screens as indicated.
• Creates individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
• Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Provides case management and links to community resources.
• Involves family and natural supports where appropriate.
• Maintains documentation in line with standards and participates in meetings.
