Job summary

Community Health Resources (CHR) invites applications for a Part-time Peer Recovery Specialist at REST Center in Willimantic, CT. The role supports individuals in crisis through recovery-oriented services, with 16 hours per week and weekend overnight scheduling.

Ideal candidates have lived recovery experience, CPSRP or Recovery Coach CCAR certification, and a valid driver’s license. The REST Center offers trauma-informed, person-centered care and links clients to community resources.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
• 2+ years working with identified populations; CPSRP preferred.
• Certification in CPSRP or Recovery Coach CCAR or equivalent required or within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating their recovery goals.
• Conduct program-specific assessments and establish person-centered treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and relapse prevention as needed.
• Deliver follow-up engagement support, including recovery coaching and safety planning.
• Maintain documentation per agency standards and transport clients as required.
