Job summary

CHR Community Health Resources, Inc. in Willimantic, CT is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for the REST Center. This full-time role (40 hours/week) runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, at REST Center in Willimantic, a 24/7 crisis stabilization program focusing on recovery support.

Responsibilities include client recovery goal planning, risk assessment, care coordination, and linkage to community resources. Requires CPSRP or CCAR certification or obtain within 6 months; valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Lived experience recovering from mental health or substance use conditions.
• 2+ years working with identified populations; CPSRP preferred.
• CPSRP or Recovery Coach certifications required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating recovery goals.
• Use program models and motivational interventions to educate on recovery strategies.
• Conduct program-specific assessments and screens as indicated.
• Create individualized, person-centered treatment plans with clients.
• Teach skills to clients and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide case management and coordinate with supports and treatment teams.
• Connect clients to community resources and support groups; address SDOH barriers.
• Follow up with recovery coaching, relapse prevention, and safety planning where appropriate.
• Maintain documentation per agency standards and participate in meetings.
