Job summary

Community Health Resources, Inc. (CHR) seeks a Recovery Support Specialist for Heartwood Home in Willimantic, CT. This full-time, on-site position supports adults in a structured recovery residence, with a focus on goal setting, skills development, and connecting clients to community resources.

Ideal candidates have CPSRP or Recovery Coach Certification, 2+ years in related work, and a valid driver’s license. The program operates 24/7, with ongoing supervision and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use conditions.
• 2+ years of experience working with the target populations; CPSRP preferred.
• Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialist (CPSRP) or Recovery Coach Certification or equivalent, or must obtain within 6 months; CPR/First Aid certification required or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in identifying and advocating their recovery goals.
• Uses program models and motivational interventions to support recovery strategies.
• Conducts program assessments and screens as indicated.
• Creates individualized, person-centered treatment plans with clients.
• Provides crisis intervention or de-escalation as needed.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Transports clients as required by the program.
• Participates in staff meetings and trainings.
