Job summary

CHR, the REST Center in Willimantic, CT, is seeking a part-time Peer Recovery Specialist to support individuals in crisis stabilization and recovery planning. The role emphasizes recovery-oriented care, advocacy, and linkage to community resources.

You will work Saturdays and Sundays 4pm-12am, delivering person-centered services, coaching, and brief interventions to residents of the REST Center.

Qualifications

• Lived experience recovering from mental health or substance use conditions is required.
• 2+ years working with identified populations; CPSRP preferred.
• Certification: CPSRP or equivalent within 6 months of hire; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating recovery goals.
• Use program models to educate on recovery strategies.
• Conduct program assessments and screens as indicated.
• Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
• Provide skills teaching and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain case management and coordinate with support networks and services.
• Document services in accordance with agency standards.
