Job summary

Ampact is seeking Reading Corps tutors to help improve student reading skills in local schools. You will lead 20-minute paired tutoring sessions, track progress, and collaborate with school staff on-site.

Training will be provided, and you’ll participate in a supportive AmeriCorps program with opportunities for growth and an education award. Positioned for the 2026-27 year, full-time and part-time hours are available.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and adapt based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to support students.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
• Commit to ongoing coaching and training to grow.
• Share experiences with the community.
