Job summary
Ampact’s Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help students in local schools become stronger readers. You’ll be trained to deliver proven activities and coached along the way, tutoring pairs of students for 20 minutes daily and tracking progress with the on-site coach.
Roles run during the 2026-27 school year with full-time and part-time options. The program offers an AmeriCorps stipend and education awards, plus the chance to grow through coaching, training, and community involvement.
Qualifications
- Dependable with a history of good attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident eligible to serve.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a set schedule.
- Track student progress and meet with the on-site coach.
- Enter student scores in data software and monitor progress.
- Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
- Share experiences with the community.
