Job summary

Ampact’s Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to support students in local schools. You will deliver proven reading activities, coach students for 20-minute sessions, and help maintain progress records.

Role includes training, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to contribute to the community. Several schedules exist, with full-time AmeriCorps options and part-time slots available.

Qualifications

• Dependability and good attendance required.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt based on feedback.
• Basic computer skills (email, online navigation) required.
• English fluent in speaking, reading, writing.
• Must be 18+ years old with HS diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States.
• Background check required and satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for consistency.
• Track student progress with the school’s on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
• Commit to coaching and professional development.
• Share experiences with the community.
