Job summary

Ampact invites you to join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor, supporting students at local schools with proven literacy activities and coaching. Each day you’ll guide pairs of students through 20 minutes of reading practice, then transition to the next pair with a focus on growth.

You’ll track progress, work with an on-site coach, and participate in coaching and training to strengthen your tutoring skills throughout the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
